LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Coastal Carolina softball team achieved the sixth-highest cumulative team GPA among all NCAA Division I softball programs for the 2025-26 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Chanticleers’ academic success was further highlighted by the NFCA’s announcement of its All-America Scholar-Athletes, with 21 Coastal student-athletes earning the distinction. To qualify, student-athletes must have posted a grade-point average of 3.50 or better during the 2025-26 academic year.

“We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes and all they achieved in the classroom. This accomplishment is indicative of their discipline and commitment to being the best in everything they do,” stated head coach Kelley Green.

The Coastal honorees included Moira Baxter, Kaelin Cash, Ryanne Ellis, Abby Henderson, Clara Hudgens, Savannah Jones, Delaney Keith, Leah Kendall, Georgia Moss, Brie Normandin, Reagan Troy and Sara Zink.

In addition, Hannah Bendle, Mackenzie Childers, Bailey Huff, McKennah Metzger, Sydney Montoya, Livi Payne, Libby Pippin, Kelsey Sawvel and Emma Skovran earned All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition after posting perfect 4.00 GPAs during the academic year.

“The softball team has consistently defined what it means to be student-athletes, and the accomplishments in the classroom this past academic year show just how committed the team is to achieving excellence on and off the field,” said Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services Krista Gray.
