Collaborative Commission on Domestic Violence

The report highlights achievements and future strategy in addressing domestic violence.

SAN ANTONIO (April 3, 2025) – The Collaborative Commission on Domestic Violence (CCDV) is proud to release its 2024 Annual Progress Report, a comprehensive review of the commission’s ongoing efforts to address domestic violence in San Antonio and Bexar County. This report serves as a testament to the collective dedication of CCDV members, community stakeholders, and local partners in advancing meaningful systemic change to the response, prevention, and accessibility of services for families experiencing domestic violence.

The report outlines CCDV’s accomplishments over the past year, focusing on three core strategies:

  • Improving data acquisition and utilization
  • Implementing a comprehensive communications campaign
  • Incorporating education on healthy relationships early in life

These initiatives reflect a shared commitment to increasing community safety, supporting families experiencing domestic violence, and enhancing systemic responses to domestic violence.

“This report not only provides transparency and accountability for our efforts but also serves as a roadmap for our future direction,” said Maria Villagomez, Deputy City Manager of the City of San Antonio and CCDV Co-Chair. “As we move forward under the guidance of the San Antonio/Bexar County Violence Prevention Strategic Plan for 2024-2028, we remain committed to holding our systems accountable and ensuring that survivors and those impacted by domestic violence receive the support they deserve.”

Despite the progress made, CCDV acknowledges the ongoing challenges in preventing and responding to domestic violence. The commission remains focused on strengthening partnerships, refining data-driven approaches, and expanding awareness to foster lasting change.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to our members and community partners for their tireless commitment to this cause,” said Bexar County Judge Monique Diaz, CCDV Co-Chair. “Together, we are creating a future where cycles of domestic violence are broken, families experiencing domestic violence are supported, and our community is safer for all.”
