KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (TNND) — College football fans greeted President Donald Trump with cheers as Air Force One soared over Neyland Stadium in Tennessee on Saturday.
The Southeastern Conference matchup between the No. 1 Longhorns and No. 14 Volunteers was one of the biggest games in the country this weekend, with Texas beating Tennessee 20-17.
Trump visited the stadium to watch Texas quarterback Arch Manning play for the first time in the stadium where his uncle Peyton became famous.
It marked one of two major sporting events for Trump this weekend, as he is set to head to the Presidents Cup 2026, a golf competition in Illinois, on Sunday.
Trump is expected at Medinah Country Club for the final day of the Presidents Cup. The biennial PGA Tour team event features 12 American players competing against 12 international players from outside Europe in match play.
Trump is the competition’s honorary chairman, a ceremonial role previously held by former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush.
The weekend continues a run of prominent sports appearances by Trump since he returned to office. He has attended the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, multiple UFC events, the FIFA Club World Cup final, the U.S. Open tennis tournament, Ryder Cup matches, and the College Football Playoff championship.
