UNDATED (WRKC) – A company has issued a recall of dog and cat food.
According to the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Viva Raw LLC has voluntarily recalled its dog and cat food products due to a potential listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Per the organization, the following products were recalled:
- Viva Turkey for Dogs Ground
- Viva Turkey for Dogs Chunked
- Viva Turkey for Cats
- Viva Pure Turkey
- Viva Beef & Turkey for Puppies
Only products manufactured under Lot 21244 are impacted by the recall. Products in the affected lot were found to have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which poses a potential health risk for both people and pets.
Viva Raw said it would notify all customers who were shipped Turkey or Beef & Turkey for Puppies products between May 16 and June 28.
The FDA said no illnesses have been reported. If you purchased any of the affected products, you can contact Viva Raw at info@vivarawpets.com for a refund on any remaining products.
Per the FDA, other affected products should be disposed of in a way that children, pets and other wildlife cannot access them.
The organization recommended that people don’t touch the contaminated products with their hands, and instead use paper towels or gloves to place the food in a sealed back and throw it in the garbage.
