MIAMI, FL — Crybaby Creamery will expand with two new stores opening this winter at 15707 SW 56th St, Miami, FL 33185 and 12700 SW 122nd Ave, Miami, FL 33186. Business Debut first learned of this from What Now Miami.

Co-owner Stephanie Diaz, who also serves as Head of Operations and Innovation for Crybaby Creamery, told Business Debut the West Kendall store is slated for the week of December 8 or December 13, with the South Kendall location targeting January.

What to Expect

Crybaby Creamery specializes in homemade ice cream and baked goods, with all mix-ins and ingredients produced in-house. Offerings include cookies, house-made caramel, hot fudge, baked components such as cookies and baklava, and rotating ice cream flavors developed by the kitchen team. Both new locations will also introduce soft serve, refrigerated desserts such as key lime pie and tres leches, cold brew, cold brew lattes, spritzers, and additional beverages.

Each store will seat roughly 20 to 25 guests and follow a fast-casual model.

Menu and Vision

The brand was launched in 2021 with the goal of challenging traditional expectations of an ice cream shop. Diaz described the approach as intentionally different. “We didn’t want this to be just another ice cream shop. We wanted something edgy and something new,” she told Business Debut.

The design features dark interiors, red tufted booths, cocktail tables, and a signature wall mural modeled after a Las Vegas welcome sign reading “Welcome to Fabulous Crybaby.” The overall aesthetic evokes a speakeasy-inspired dessert bar rather than a pastel ice cream parlor. Diaz noted that the name Crybaby reflects an intentional play on emotion. “We wanted an emotional connection. We serve happy tears daily,” she said.

Brand Background

Crybaby Creamery operates under Fire Pit Hospitality, the Miami group behind Maxwell Brothers, Lincoln’s Beard Brewing, Strange Beast, and The Thorn. Diaz co-owns Crybaby Creamery with Todd Maxwell and John Falco.

The original Palmetto Bay location is known for its thick New York–style cookies and fully house-made ice cream blends. The two upcoming stores expand the brand with a broader dessert program, cold brew offerings, and soft serve.

Opening Timeline

The West Kendall store is expected to open in mid-December, pending final approvals. The South Kendall location is slated for January.
