More than 800 prospective Lynx and family members came to campus to learn about what it’s like to be a part of the Lynx community on Admitted Students Day, which took place on Friday, April 17. “I want you to picture yourself here,” Assistant Vice Chancellor for Recruitment and Admissions Ashley Weatherspoon said to the crowd. “Because this decision is about more than where you go. It’s about who you become.”

In the Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center, students heard tips to succeed in their first year of college from Director of First Year Student Experiences Emilie Waggoner and learned about housing and dining offerings from Associate Director of Housing and Dining Tina Carroll. They then took part in breakout groups on topics like how to make the most of their time on campus and how to engage in hands-on experiences beyond the classroom.

More than 100 CU Denver employees representing more than 20 departments pitched in to make Admitted Students Day a success. The event closed with a farewell from Chancellor Kenneth T. Christensen and two $1,000 scholarship raffles.
