CUNYAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Heaven Figueroa, Lehman (Gr., G, Brooklyn, N.Y.)
In a 2-1 week for Lehman (2-0 CUNYAC), Figueroa averaged 19.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7.7 steals, 6.0 assists and 1.3 blocked shots per game while shooting 41.0% (25-61) from the floor. She flirted with a quadruple-double (21 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, nine steals) in Friday’s win over CCNY, then totaled 23 points, eight rebounds and eight steals in a non-conference setback to Christopher Newport Sunday.
CUNYAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
Isabela Araujo, Lehman (Fr., G, Bronx, N.Y.)
Araujo averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.0 assists in a 2-1 week for the Lightning. She notched 17 points in a win against Medgar Evers on Wednesday, then recorded 15 points, six rebounds and six steals in a victory against CCNY Friday night.
CUNYAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Brianna Jackson, Brooklyn (Jr., G, Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Jackson helped the Bulldogs remain unbeaten in CUNYAC play with wins over Baruch and Medgar Evers by averaging 16.0 points, 7.5 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 steals per game while shooting 51.9% (14-27) from the floor. In the win over the Bearcats she posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists, then had 16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and four steals in 23 minutes against Medgar Evers.
