The Davante Adams era is over with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Ending an unexpected in-season drama, the Raiders have reportedly traded Adams to the New York Jets.
The Raiders are getting a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-round pick in return for the star wide receiver, according to ESPN. The Jets are assuming all of Adams’ contract according to ESPN.
The conditions to make the pick a second-rounder are difficult to attain.
Trade condition update: The conditional third-round pick the Jets are trading to the Raiders for Davante Adams becomes a second if any of the following happen, per source:

On October 1, it was reported that the Raiders’ brass was finally ready to listen to trade offers for Adams and the player in turn told the team he would prefer to be traded.
The Raiders acquired Adams from the Green Bay Packers in March 2022 in a blockbuster trade in which the Raiders sent out first and second-round picks. The Raiders then gave Adams a massive, five-year, $140 million deal with $65.7 million in guaranteed money. It made him the richest wide receiver in the league at the time.
A primary reason why Adams wanted to play with the Raiders was to reunite with close friend and college quarterback Derek Carr. But Carr was released after their first season together in Las Vegas and the talk about Adams’ unhappiness in Las Vegas then began and it never stopped.
Adams played 37 games for the Raiders. He had 221 catches for 2,869 yards and 23 touchdowns in what turns out to be a disappointing and short stint with the team.
Adams reworked his deal with the Jets and the receiver and the Jets will discuss his future in the offseason.
A reworked deal: New Jets WR Davante Adams already has restructured his contract to lower his salary cap number this season to $3.21 million, per sources.
