This weekend, the DCCC partnered with local and statewide Democratic organizations to gather students and grassroots leaders in South Texas to prepare, organize, and strengthen Latino coalitions ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Rio Grande Valley leaders, students, and organizers engaged in a series of trainings and workshops, providing the community with the tools they need to energize voters and take back the House next November.
The Leadership Summit comes as Latino voters across the country are building Democratic momentum and souring on the broken promises of the Trump Administration and House Republicans.
“By investing in and engaging with local communities early, we are able to strengthen coalitions and uplift local Latino voices,” said DCCC National Latino Engagement Director José Monsivais. “Time and time again Texas Republicans have fallen short on their promises to voters. Latino voters are a strong force in South Texas, and next November they will be ready to take back the House.”
The Leadership summit was the first of the cycle as the DCCC continues to engage Latino voters across the country.
