ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Delta flight returned to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and was evacuated after fumes were reported in the cockpit on Saturday morning, according to the airline.
Delta Flight 2204 from Atlanta to Orlando went back to the airport shortly after takeoff. The six crew members and 199 passengers evacuated on the tarmac using slides and were taken back to the terminal by bus.
First responders met the flight on the taxiway, but Delta didn’t report any injuries. The Boeing 757 will be evaluated by a maintenance team.
“Safety is paramount at Delta, and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” Delta said.
