DENVER (KDVR) — After hitting 90 degrees for the first time this year, Denver is warming right back up into the upper 80s and lower 90s under mostly sunny skies on Thursday.
Rain and storm chances return by the weekend along with cooler temperatures in the Denver weather forecast.
Weather today: Sunny skies and above-average temperatures
Temperatures Thursday afternoon will top out in the upper 80s, nearing 90 degrees yet again. Winds will be out of the southeast anywhere from 5-15 mph.
Weather tonight: Mostly clear with gusty winds
Thursday night, temperatures will be mild as overnight lows sink into the upper 50s and lower 60s. It will be breezy though, with gusts up to 30 mph in Denver.
Looking ahead: Warm Friday, chance for thunderstorms
Friday will start out mainly sunny. Then, as high temperatures climb to the 90s, clouds will increase ahead of afternoon thunderstorms.
Denver will be seeing an increased chance of storms this weekend, mainly in the afternoon hours. High temperatures will be cooler, only in the upper 70s and lower 80s. There will be more showers and storms on Sunday afternoon as well.
Temperatures will start to warm into the 80s as the workweek gets underway alongside a decreasing chance for thunderstorms by the middle of the week.
