USAFA, Colo. – The University of Denver women’s tennis team wrapped up fall season opening weekend at the Bedford Cup in the Mountains, hosted by the Air Force Academy, with two wins apiece in singles and doubles on Sunday.

In total, Denver student-athletes played in just five matches on the final day of play, opting out of a couple DU-vs.-DU match ups from the back draws.

The day began with a two-for-two performance in doubles, highlighted by a 7-5 win in the Red Draw title match from senior Zoe Adkins and freshman Ruby Hansen. DU’s other doubles team in action – senior Hana Bečirovič Novak and sophomore Natálie Cinková – closed out their return to collegiate play with a bagel in a Green Draw added match.

Three Pioneers took to the singles court with senior Louise Wikander and redshirt freshman Remy Nguyen capturing straight-sets wins in back-draw Alpha and Echo Draw matches, respectively.

Prior to the start of play, Wikander was recognized as the 2025 Bedford Cup Sportsmanship Award winner as well.
