DETROIT. (WILX) – The Detroit Pistons have agreed to a three-year, $48 million deal with guard/forward Duncan Robinson and will send forward Simone Fontecchio to the Miami Heat as part of a sign-and-trade, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Robinson, 31, played seven seasons for the Miami Heat after playing at the University of Michigan. He averaged 11 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 74 games for Miami last season. His three-point shooting ability fills a big need for the Pistons after the departure of Tim Hardaway Jr. and the uncertain status of Malik Beasley.
Fontecchio, 29, scored 5.9 points per game in 75 games for Detroit last season.
