PitchersTop HittersValue BatsStacks to Consider

Add a few Royals bats to your Saturday DraftKings MLB DFS lineups on the road against Bailey Ober and the Twins.

After some heavy afternoon schedules the last few Saturdays, we return to a more traditional night main slate that starts at 7:05 p.m. EDT and consists of 11 games.

Pitchers

It’s a weak slate for pitching, and that begins at the top of the pool as the one with the three highest salaries have endured stretches of dominance while also faltering. With less to distinguish by skill, matchup will be more relevant than usual.

The primary choice comes down to Jacob deGrom ($10,600) and Jesus Luzardo ($9,100), with the duo facing each other. I’d ultimately lean Luzardo due to matchup as the Rangers rank 28th in wOBA against left-handed pitching while striking out at a 25 percent clip. It’s also not a bad day to bypass the top pitchers.

Noah Cameron ($8,900) interestingly comes in at a similar valuation to Luzardo. He doesn’t boast the K rate to typically be a target, yet he draws the Twins on Saturday and also has at least six strikeouts from four of his last five outings.

Joey Cantillo ($7,700) has successfully built up to a traditional starter’s workload of late having worked at least 5.0 innings through three of his last four appearances while topping 17 DK points twice. The White Sox have hit well the last month (league’s fifth-best wOBA at .331), but Cantillo still offers decent value.

There are two selections at $7,000 or lower who I’d consider. The first is Sandy Alcantara ($7,000), who admittedly has been very inconsistent. He faces a relatively tough matchup versus Atlanta, though his primary advantage over the rest of the field at this salary point is that we know he’ll work deep into games. Alcantara isn’t all that likely to perform well. But if he does, it should produce big results.

Joe Boyle ($5,900) is on the Cantillo track as he’s slowly earned more innings. He finished five last time out and is cheap enough where he’s worth considering, especially given his 24.1 percent strikeout rate.

Top Hitters

Bradley Blalock has performed better on the road, which isn’t particularly surprising. However, he’s still allowed three homers across 18 away innings. That puts some Diamondbacks hitters on the radar, and there’s no better choice than Corbin Carroll ($6,300).

The A’s are definitely up for stacking, but we’ll focus on one bat for this article. Shea Langeliers ($5,200) has either been leadoff or cleanup the last two weeks while delivering double-digit DK points in eight of 13 starts.

Value Bats

We already mentioned Bradley Blalock as a pitcher to target, yet the Rockies also draw an exploitable matchup against Eduardo Rodriguez. Much of their roster enter with low salaries as they won’t be at Coors Field, with Ezequiel Tovar ($3,300) standing out as he’s moved up to second in the order and significantly undervalued.

Logan Evans has recently endured some blowup outings, so getting exposure to the Rays makes sense. There aren’t many value options, but Ha-Seong Kim ($3,800) and Josh Lowe ($3,700) should be considered.

Stacks to Consider

Royals at Twins (Bailey Ober): Mike Yastrzemski ($3,500), Bobby Witt ($6,200), Vinnie Pasquantino ($4,300)

The Royals aren’t traditionally a team to combine as their offense isn’t all that potent. However, they offer a nice combination of skill and affordability (excluding Witt) atop the order. The biggest draw is going up against Ober, who’s given up at least four earned runs during six straight starts while serving up multiple long balls on five occasions.

Brewers vs. Mets (Frankie Montas): Sal Frelick ($4,100), William Contreras ($4,600), Christian Yelich ($5,100)

Name value wouldn’t lead to stacking against Frankie Montas, as there are some pretty poor pitchers set to take the mound on Saturday. However, he’s run into some significant problems of late surrendering 12 earned runs across 8.1 innings. That’s primarily occurred due to a lack of swing and miss, and the Brewers’ contact-heavy approach should lead to some offense.
