Dallas Fort Worth International Airport fell slightly in the latest global ranking of the world’s busiest airports but still remains among the top five.

With about 85.6 million passengers in 2025, the North Texas aviation hub came in at No. 4 internationally, according to the latest annual ranking from Airports Council International, a global trade association. That was down one spot from last year after DFW Airport saw a 2.5% traffic decline, according to the report.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remained the busiest in the world with more than 106 million passengers, according to the report. Atlanta was followed by Dubai International, with around 95 million passengers, and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, with 91.6 million.

DFW Airport ranked as the third-busiest hub two years in a row for 2024 and 2023 traffic. The airport has climbed up the rankings over the last several years. In 2019, the airport ranked 10th, before ascending to No. 2 in back-to-back years in 2021 and 2022, behind Hartsfield-Jackson. Since then, DFW has remained among the top five.
