Detours and Closures Scheduled from Saturday Evening into Sunday Morning
DFW AIRPORT, Texas (Dec. 11, 2025)
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has scheduled various roadway closures and detours to take place this weekend to support the demolition of the flyover bridge that previously supported access into Terminal A. The portion of the bridge that will be demolished is positioned over northbound International Parkway, which requires a set of temporary closures and detours throughout the terminal area to ensure the safe operation of the demolition and maintain an efficient flow of traffic.
The roadway impacts are scheduled to take place from 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 through 8 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14.
Traffic Exiting All Terminals Detoured to South Exits
During the scheduled construction activity, traffic exiting all terminals will be directed to every terminal’s South Exit. The U-turn to northbound International Parkway, located ahead of the South Exit Plaza, will remain open to traffic; however, DFW encourages customers to exit the airport to the south to avoid additional closures and anticipated congestion in the area where demolition will be taking place.
Northbound International Parkway Reduced to One Lane
To accommodate the demolition, a lane reduction will be put into place on northbound International Parkway during the scheduled activity. Access into Terminals C, D and E will remain open ahead of the demolition area. Customers accessing Terminals A and B will be detoured around the demolition area, then proceed north to the existing detour into Terminal A and the new right-hand exit to Terminal B.
For the easiest access into DFW’s terminals, the airport encourages customers that are accessing Terminals A and B to arrive from the north, while customers accessing Terminals C, D and E are suggested to arrive from the south.
Signage will be in place to guide customers through closures and detours.
