Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez swatted his 300th career major league home run on Friday against the Colorado Rockies, becoming the 12th active player to join the elite club.
Suarez hit two home runs in a 14-8 win, his third multi-home run game of the season and second straight day with a long ball. His 300th was crushed to left-center field off a slider from lefty Ryan Rolison, a two-run blast that pushed Arizona ahead 11-7. He had a huge smile on his face as teammates and coaches met him in the dugout.
The 33-year-old has 24 home runs this season, which ranks fourth in MLB and second in the National League. Additionally, with seven RBIs over the past two games, Suarez has taken over the MLB lead with 65 RBIs.

Since his difficult start to the 2024 season, Suarez has been one of the game’s top sluggers. From July 7, 2024, Suarez has clubbed 46 home runs in 147 games, which trails only Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, who each won MVPs last year. His 132 RBIs leads leads all major leaguers.
Suarez is one of 19 players all-time to hit 300 home runs while primarily playing third base. Only five have hit 400: Mike Schmidt (548), Eddie Matthews (512), Adrian Beltre (477), Chipper Jones (468) and Darrell Evans (414) — Alex Rodriguez played more shortstop than third base.
Suarez recently passed Magglio Ordoñez for third all-time in home runs hit by Venezuelan-born players.
The veteran has played 12 MLB seasons, spending time with the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners and Diamondbacks. He hit most of his home runs with the Reds from 2015-21, but the D-backs are now the team he’s hit the second-most homers for (54).
