The Arizona Diamondbacks placed left-hander Jordan Montgomery on the 15-day injured list and reinstated catcher Gabriel Moreno from the IL during a series of moves Tuesday ahead of their three-game road series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Diamondbacks also reinstated outfielder Alek Thomas from the injured list and recalled right-hander Gavin Hollowell from Triple-A Reno. Infielder Blaze Alexander was optioned to Reno, while catcher Tucker Barnhart was designated for assignment.

Montgomery, 31, landed on the IL retroactive to Saturday with right knee inflammation. He lasted just 2⅔ innings during his start against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday when he gave up eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits. In his eighth season and first in Arizona, Montgomery is 6-5 with a 6.44 ERA in 13 starts.
