NFL coaches and players oftentimes get upset at referees depending on the context.
But Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants appeared to have a different type of exchange.
Video from the CBS broadcast appeared to capture an NFL official saying “F— you” to Cardinals star tight end Trey McBride twice along the sidelines with Arizona down 27-24.
It’s not clear what prompted the dialogue between McBride and sideline judge Jeff Seeman. It’s not yet clear if the league will comment, too.
McBride also appeared to gesture toward the camera after the remarks with a smile.
The Cardinals fell to 1-3 after the 36-24 loss, with Jacoby Brissett unable to outduel Jameis Winston.
McBride, a 2025 First-Team All-Pro member, had seven catches on 12 targets for 31 yards.
Colorado State tight end Trey McBride was drafted in the 2nd round by the Arizona Cardinals, making him the first NFL player with same-sex parents.
