Dillon Danis could soon have the opportunity to settle his beef with a prominent member of Team Khabib.
Danis, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, has been feuding with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s squad for years. It started when he helped Conor McGregor prepare for his infamous 2018 fight with Nurmagomedov, but has escalated further in recent years. The most recent incident occurred when he got into a brawl with Team Khabib representative Magomed “Chanco” Zaynukov — also known affectionately as “John Pork” — at UFC 322.
Because Danis competes in several combat sports outside the UFC, and Chanco is signed to the MMA promotion, there’s no chance of them settling their beef in the Octagon. However, an Armenian promotion called Hype FC is offering them the chance to do so on the grappling mats.
Hype FC recently announced that Danis had been signed to their roster. The BJJ star doesn’t have an opponent for his debut yet, but a recent Instagram post from the promotion suggested a grudge match with Chanco — with “record amounts of money” on the line.
Dillon Danis offered huge payday to fight Team Khabib staple
“Dillon Danis will perform at Hype Armenia in his homeland,” the post stated (translation via MMA Mania). “Which of the top is ready to oppose him? Did you know that Dillon is part Armenian?”
It then went on to suggest the matchup with Chanco, who unlike most members of team Khabib, is a Muay Thai specialist rather than a grappler. Meaning he’d be at a huge disadvantage against Danis in a grappling match.
“We offer the solution for this conflict in the grappling match in neutral zone in Armenia at the stadium HYPE FC event,” the post read.
The post also specified the bout would involve “record amounts of money for grappling.”
