DENVER — DispatchHealth, a tech-enabled home health care company based in Denver, has laid off dozens of employees.
The company last week laid off 88 people in its corporate staff, according to three former employees who were a part of the layoffs. They said this round was preceded by other layoffs in recent months in the company’s engineering, tech, product and clinical departments.
DispatchHealth would not confirm the number of employees laid off, saying only in a statement that the company “recently said goodbye to some valued team members.”
The core business of DispatchHealth comes from sending caretakers to patients’ homes to provide at-home care for serious injuries or illnesses that might otherwise be treated in an urgent care clinic or emergency room. The company, founded in 2013, uses a tech platform to quickly connect people in need of care.
A person familiar with the company said the layoffs are the result of a larger restructuring. DispatchHealth is focusing on places across the U.S. that have more high-needs patients such as those who are older, have multiple comorbidities or transportation issues.
