BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After batting .625 with a pair of homers against two Power 4 programs, Boston University softball sophomore Kylie Doherty earned her first career Patriot League Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
The Bolton, Massachusetts, native went a combined 5-for-8 over three games against Boston College and Kentucky (2x) to become the third Terrier to claim the honor after junior Brooke Deppiesse and sophomore Libby Walsh were both previously recognized.
In the first contest at BC, Doherty went 2-for-3 with a walk and go-ahead solo homer in the top of the seventh to lift BU to a 2-1 victory. The 2024 All-PL Second Team honoree followed up with another 2-for-3 performance alongside two walks against the Wildcats.
After delivering a two-RBI single in a heartbreaking 4-3 (8) loss, Doherty recorded another solo homer in the rematch to help BU briefly grab a 4-2 lead. She finished with a combined five walks to post a .769 on-base percentage.
The Terriers will next host Stonehill in a doubleheader on Wednesday (April 16) starting at 2 p.m.
