Dolphins to deal Bradley Chubb or Jaelan Phillips

The Miami Dolphins are likely to trade at least one of two veteran edge rushers before the Nov. 4 deadline for deals, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“I think the Miami Dolphins will move at least one of their pass rushers — either Jaelan Phillips or Bradley Chubb,” Schefter said Tuesday on his podcast.

Chubb and Phillips have been floated by many as trade candidates throughout October. Matthew Judon’s name has also recently popped up as a player possibly on the move.

With so many pass rushers on the roster, snaps have become limited for 2024 first-round pick Chop Robinson. So it would make sense for the Dolphins to cash in a veteran for some draft capital and space under the salary cap.

Chubb leads the Dolphins in sacks this season with four, while Phillips is the team leader in quarterback pressures with 27 (per PFF). Both players come with concerning injury histories, but Phillips may be the more valuable of the two on the trade market due to his age, productivity, and contract situation.

Teams potentially in the market for a pass rusher could include the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Detroit Lions.
