The fourth annual Dominican Republic trade show at the Miami Beach Convention Center brought the Caribbean’s energy to South Florida. From the moment attendees stepped onto the show floor, the destination came to life through its sights, sounds and flavors.

Tourism leaders announced the start of the 4th Annual Dominican Republic Trade Show.

The rhythm of merengue and bachata filled the space as dancers guided guests through interactive lessons. At the same time, attendees at activation areas sampled cassava, a staple root used in traditional flatbreads, and mamajuana, the Dominican Republic’s signature spiced rum infused with herbs, bark and honey. Hands-on cocoa workshops invited participants to craft their own chocolate, creating an immersive experience that seamlessly blended business with culture.

Beyond the vibrant atmosphere, the event showcased the Dominican Republic’s continued tourism dominance. The destination welcomed a record 11.6 million visitors in 2025, reinforcing its position as the Caribbean’s leading tourism hub and a top seller for travel advisors.

A Platform for Growth Across Every Segment

Education and insight were central to the program, with sessions dedicated to luxury travel, adventure tourism and the booming cruise sector. The country recorded a historic year for cruising in 2025, welcoming more than 2.8 million cruise passengers—a 6 percent increase over 2024 and part of a surge that has seen arrivals more than double since 2022.

“Trade Show 2026 demonstrated that the Dominican Republic not only leads in visitor arrivals but also in its ability to generate real business opportunities and sustainable development across the entire tourism value chain,” said David Collado, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, in a press statement.

Minister Collado emphasized the sector’s critical role in the national economy, highlighting an estimated $15 billion impact on GDP and 479,722 in job creation. The trade show also reflected the country’s current momentum, featuring more than 100 exhibitors and investing companies and generating more than 1,800 scheduled business appointments.

The trade show convened a comprehensive cross-section of the industry, from airlines and tour operators to luxury resorts and niche adventure providers, offering a full picture of the destination’s evolving product. A key message throughout was the Dominican Republic’s multi-segment strategy—expanding beyond its famed sun-and-sand appeal to include luxury, gastronomy, eco-tourism, sports and wellness.

Growth is also being driven by development across both established and emerging regions, including Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Río San Juan, alongside new luxury investments such as the St. Regis Cap Cana, W Punta Cana, Four Seasons Miches and ZEL Punta Cana.

Organized by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism, the annual event continues to serve as one of the most important tourism trade platforms in the Americas—connecting global partners while showcasing the Dominican Republic as a dynamic, year-round destination with broad appeal for today’s travelers.
