Jones Hall plans a $4.9M renovation affecting nearly 4,800 square feet, with work expected to start next summer and finish in 2027.
HOUSTON — Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, which is the downtown home of the Houston Symphony and Performing Arts Houston, is set to undergo its latest round of improvements.
The Foundation for Jones Hall is preparing to spend $4.9 million to upgrade one of the building’s restrooms and to renovate the musician locker room, according to a filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. In all, the project will affect 4,780 square feet of the building.
The filing said the project is scheduled to begin next summer and is expected to wrap up in mid-2027.
Houston-based Studio RED Architects has been tapped to design the project, the filing said.
TDLR filings are preliminary and are often subject to change.
Robert Eubanks, executive director with the Foundation for Jones Hall, said the project was unanimously approved by the organization’s board of directors in June.
