Informed by a committee of faculty, staff, students, and community representatives, City Colleges Chancellor Juan Salgado has selected Dr. Isaac Zúñiga as the next President of Richard J. Daley College.
Dr. Zúñiga brings extensive experience in higher education leadership, most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Academic and Student Success and Chief Academic and Student Affairs Officer at Richland Community College in Decatur, Illinois. His career also includes nearly 12 years at Kennedy-King College, where he held a range of student services leadership roles, including College Advisor, Associate Dean, and Dean.
A nationally-recognized advocate for equity and student success, Dr. Zúñiga currently serves as Board Treasurer of the National Community College Hispanic Council and previously led the Illinois Community College Diversity Commission.
He is also a 2024–2025 Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow, one of the nation’s premier leadership programs preparing the next generation of community college presidents, and was honored with the Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his longstanding commitment to educational access, equity, and leadership development for Latino students and communities.
Dr. Zúñiga’s experience and values strongly align with Daley College’s commitment to provide innovative, high-quality education for the diverse communities of Chicago’s Southwest Side. He will build upon Daley’s strong momentum when he joins the college this summer.
