The Edgewater High School football program has been invited to a special matchup in the United Kingdom. The Eagles will play against a team from the NFL Academy in Loughborough featuring players who have been recruited from around Europe and Africa.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our players, and we are honored and thrilled to be a part of it,” said Cameron Duke, head football coach at Edgewater High School, in a press release.
The game will take place Aug. 15, and the Eagles are looking for additional support to help underwrite the trip. Contributions can be made through the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools through the 1952 Club.
Potential corporate sponsors can reach out to Athletic Director Josh Vandergrift or head of fundraising Sam Miller.
