SALT LAKE CITY — The MBA Online program at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business has been ranked No. 14 overall and No. 10 among U.S. public schools in The Princeton Review’s Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2027.

Designed for working professionals, Eccles MBA Online combines the flexibility of online learning with a rigorous, highly connected MBA experience. Students learn from the same faculty who teach on campus, engage with classmates from a range of industries, and apply what they learn to real challenges in their workplaces.

“Working professionals should not have to choose between flexibility and a transformative MBA experience,” said Brad Vierig, associate dean for Graduate Programs and Executive Education. “Our MBA Online students learn from exceptional faculty, apply what they learn immediately and build relationships that extend beyond the virtual classroom. This ranking validates the quality of the experience — and, more importantly, the value our students bring back to their careers and organizations.”

Student feedback played a significant role in the rankings. Eccles School respondents described the program as being “run extremely effectively” and praised its “phenomenal” professors and responsive administration. Students also said the online environment allows them to collaborate “just like we are all in the same classroom.”

Respondents highlighted the flexibility of weekly course modules, the accessibility of faculty, and the ability to immediately apply classroom learning in the workplace.

The Princeton Review based its 2027 online MBA rankings on surveys conducted in 2025 and 2026 of administrators at 194 business schools offering online MBA programs and more than 13,360 students enrolled in those programs. Editors evaluated more than 60 data points related to academics, faculty, career services, technology, student satisfaction and career outcomes.

“This recognition reinforces our commitment to delivering an exceptional MBA experience that develops capable, confident leaders, whether they join us on campus or online,” said Kurt Dirks, dean of the David Eccles School of Business.

The ranking reflects the Eccles School’s broader commitment to providing accessible, career-connected graduate education that prepares professionals to lead through change and create meaningful impact in their organizations and communities.
