ELKHART, Ind. — Central Park in downtown Elkhart came alive this weekend as the city hosted its annual Hispanic Heritage festival, drawing crowds with lively music, authentic cuisine, and colorful performances. Vendors lined the park, offering food from a variety of Latin American countries alongside handmade goods such as jewelry, toys, ceramics, and traditional clothing.

Organizers said the festival aimed not only to celebrate Latino culture within the community but also to share it with residents from all backgrounds. “We want everyone in Elkhart to experience the richness of Hispanic heritage,” said a city spokesperson.

Highlights included a Selena concert experience at the Lerner Theatre, energetic performances by Grupo Elevado, GRUPO MG, Cepiallo, Los Ortega, La Sonora Dinamita, and St. John’s Ballet Folklorico. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display, capping off a day dedicated to cultural pride and unity.
