Employees of Radio Rancho LLC in Boise, ID are set to acquire the company, ensuring that Spanish-language KDBI-FM (La GranD 106.3) and KPDA-FM (La Poderosa 100.7) remain locally owned and community-driven. The acquisition fulfills the vision of outgoing owners Kevin Terry and Scot Mathews, who prioritized keeping the business in the hands of the team that helped build it over the past decade. The transition will result in an ownership group that is substantially Hispanic-owned.
“We built something special here, and the employees made it thrive,” said Terry. “Selling to them keeps Radio Rancho local and in the hands of those who truly understand its mission.” Mathews echoed that sentiment, adding, “This team has poured their hearts into these stations for ten years. They’ve earned this, and I’m proud it’s staying with a group that reflects the community.”
Among the new owners are DC Calton, Vice President, and Gustavo Acosta, On-Air Talent and Programming Director. Both expressed their commitment to continuing Radio Rancho’s legacy.
“Taking ownership of Radio Rancho is a privilege we don’t take lightly,” said Calton. “We’re ready to lead these stations forward while honoring their roots.” Acosta emphasized the deeper significance of the stations in the region. “This is more than a job-it’s a voice for our culture and our people,” he said. “Being part of this Ownership Group means we can keep telling our stories, playing our music, and connecting with Southern Idaho in a way that’s authentic and real. Radio Rancho lives on….”
The stations will continue broadcasting Spanish-language music, news, and cultural programming, now under employee ownership.
