Your 2024 Boston Celtics are NBA Champions. So of course there will be a Boston Celtics parade to celebrate the victory.

The Celtics defeated Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks in five games, clinching the title with a 106-88 Game 5 victory at TD Garden. Jayson Tatum was dominant. Jaylen Brown was named MVP. Al Horford is finally an NBA champ.

They won it all on 6/17, just like the last time they won it all in 2008. In doing so, the Celtics put an end to the second-longest Championship drought–1,962 days–since they, the Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots all existed in 1960, so says Boston Sports Info.

Boston Celtics Parade: When Is It?

As soon as the clock hit triple zeroes on Monday night, fans started speculating as to when the victory parade would take place. On Tuesday morning, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced the date: Friday, June 21, 2024.

What Time Does It Start?

The victory parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday and will start outside TD Garden. The good news? School will be out for most students. The bad news? School will be out for most students. So expect a packed parade route.

Boston Celtics Parade: What’s The Route?

The victory parade begins on Causeway Street outside of TD Garden. The route is expected to follow New Chardon St. and Cambridge St. to Tremont St., where it will pass Boston Common and pick up Boylston St., ending at Hynes Convention Center.

Take The T!

As you can see on our handy map, there are tons of T stops along the parade route. In fact, the route is accessible from the Orange, Green, Blue, and Red Line. So take advantage of that fact, ditch your car, and take the T.

Boston Celtics Parade: What’s The Forecast?

Thankfully, the current heat wave will have broken by Friday. Highs in the ’80s, not as humid, with a chance of showers in the late afternoon. Keep this guide handy, as we’ll be updating it with more info during the week.
