A celebration of local businesses and community, 623 Day makes its debut in Glendale on Monday, June 23. Inspired by Phoenix’s popular 602 Day, 623 Day aims to celebrate the lively spirit of the West Valley by showcasing the innovative small business owners at the heart of Historic Downtown Glendale.
West Valley vendors will offer goods and services priced at just $6.23, an homage to the area code and a celebration of local pride. “623 Day is more than a number – it’s a celebration of where we live, who we are and the local businesses that make our community thrive,” says Leandro Baldenegro, Glendale Ocotillo district council member and avid 623 Day advocate. Residents, visitors and vendors alike are invited to explore the amazing tastes, smells and vibes of the 623 on Monday.
Wellness shop Tangled Root Botanicals will host a sound bath beginning at 6:23 PM for $6.23, offering a tranquil grounding experience amid the summer heat and bustle of celebration. Other $6.23 deals include desert-chic sunglasses at Pink House Boutique, medium pies from Pizza Old Roma, and Blue Corn Cafe & Bakery’s signature fresh-baked sourdough loaves.
“623 Day is about celebrating the local flavor, culture and businesses that make Glendale and the West Valley so special,” says Matt Young, who owns downtown Glendale vintage store Cactus VHS.
Meanwhile, Baldenegro is working behind the scenes to create an official proclamation that will recognize 623 Day as an annual celebration of Glendale’s vibrant business community.
“It’s an invitation to explore your neighborhood, support the local economy and have fun doing it,” Pizza Old Roma owner Kolby Waters says.
