Theoretically, Sunday’s game against the Dolphins should have been a win for the Falcons. The Dolphins are in shambles. They’ve lost to every team they’ve played except the still-winless-in-Week-8 Jets. But as we know all too well as Falcons fans, it’s any given Sunday in this league. And the Falcons’ inactive players for Sunday’s tilt certainly dampened my enthusiasm for this one.
Unsurprisingly, Kirk Cousins will get the start for the Falcons with Michael Penix Jr. inactive with a bone bruise in his knee. Drake London, who was a late add to the injury report on Friday with a hip injury and limited practice, but no game designation. The team announced Sunday that he is sidelined with that hip injury.
Divine Deablo, who has been the heart of this Falcons defense this season, is headed to IR with the forearm injury he suffered vs. the 49ers in last Week’s loss. And Zach Harrison, who’s been blowing things up out there also, is out today with a knee injury. He was able to manage limited practice all week, so I’m hopeful this is a one-game thing for him.
Other notes of interest: QB Easton Stick and WR Dylan Drummond have been moved to the active roster for Sunday’s game, safety Jordan Fuller has been activated from the IR/designated to return list, and they’ve signed ILB Ronnie Harrison to the active roster.
