Move over pumpkin spice. Fall at CU Denver is all about watching our downtown campus transform into a beautiful kaleidoscope of reds, golds, oranges, and yellows as the trees change colors. But that’s not all!
Fall also brings reminders to fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is now open for 2026-27. The FAFSA is a national, standard form that is used to determine what need-based aid college students qualify for based on their income. It is used to figure out what federal aid you may be eligible for, which could include grants, work-study opportunities, and loans (CU Denver’s school code is: 004508).
Plus, this season means the return of the Colorado Free Application Days. This year, from Oct. 7 to Oct. 9, application fees to CU Denver are waived for people living in Colorado or who are currently attending school in Colorado. So, gather up your materials in advance and get ready to apply!
And, yes, you’re right. We also love pumpkin spice, especially if it helps fuel a fall study session (here are some nearby coffee shop options, which just might have a pumpkin-themed latte on the menu).
