Even with all that success, he was only the QB11 overall in Fantasy football and QB9 on a points-per-game basis, so it takes an exceptionally special rookie campaign to keep up with the established stars at the position. Only three of 138 rookie quarterbacks have finished as top-12 quarterbacks in the Fantasy football rankings since 2013.

2024 Caleb Williams Fantasy football projection
The model has locked in its 2024 Fantasy football prediction for Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. The 22-year-old is coming off a brilliant college career, ranking inside the top 14 in passing grade and yards per attempt in his final two seasons at USC, according to Pro Football Focus. He enters an ideal situation in the NFL, with his supporting cast including players like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze and D’Andre Swift.
Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron is in his first year on the job after spending time with the Rams and Seahawks over the past seven seasons, and he is expected to inject passing volume into the Chicago offense. However, there are still some things for owners to be wary of before drafting Williams, namely his high ADP. 2024 Jayden Daniels Fantasy football projection
The model has also released its projection for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may be entering his rookie season, but he’s already older than a few non-rookie starters in the NFL. Daniels turns 24 in December and nearly a full year older than C.J. Stroud. His five college seasons as a starter gave him many more snaps than your typical rookie and helped him throw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns at LSU last year.
Although Daniels is now playing with all professionals, there’s an argument to make that his top two receivers at LSU last year had more natural talent than his WR1 with the Commanders this season. Daniels had the luxury of throwing to Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr., who both went in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Terry McLaurin is an established NFL wide receiver but outside of him, the Commanders don’t have too many pass catchers who put fear into defenses. NFL defensive coordinators will want to try and confuse Daniels and although his athleticism gave him a huge advantage in college, it remains to be seen how that works in the NFL. 2024 Drake Maye Fantasy football projection
The model has also released its ranking for Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye. A two-year starter at UNC, Maye led the ACC in passing yards in each of the last two seasons while also showing off his wheels, rushing for over 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns. However, his numbers took a step back across the board in 2023 after losing two receivers to the NFL Draft. That’s important to know as Maye joins a Patriots team that is lacking talent offensively as New England ranked in the bottom five in passing yards, total yards and points scored last season.
Unlike the two players drafted ahead of him in Williams and Daniels, Maye hasn’t been anointed New England’s starting QB yet. Veteran Jacoby Brissett is in pole position to start the season, which would undoubtedly limit Maye’s Fantasy impact over a full year. However, Maye brings a dynamic element to the position that Brissett lacks, so Fantasy managers will have to decide if he’s a draft-and-stash player as part of their 2024 Fantasy football strategy.
