Faulkner University is proud to announce that the theme of this year’s Benefit Dinner, scheduled for October 2, 2025, will pay special recognition to the dedicated healthcare workers who tirelessly serve and care for individuals who cannot care for themselves. The event will honor several healthcare professionals for their selflessness, daily sacrifices, and commitment to patient care.
“We are here tonight to honor our healthcare workers,” said Faulkner University President Mitch Henry. “These individuals courageously face patients on their worst days, inspiring them with hope and healing. This dinner is just one way to highlight Faulkner University’s commitment to training ethical and elite healthcare professionals through our College of Health Sciences, including our new School of Nursing. We celebrate the healthcare professionals who have chosen this field as their ministry to serve others.”
The Faulkner University Benefit Dinner has long been a treasured tradition, eagerly anticipated by the Montgomery and River Region communities. This annual event invites notable public figures and nationally recognized personalities to speak, drawing a broad local audience. Past speakers have included U.S. Presidents, international heads of state, athletes, astronauts, and journalists, all of whom have left lasting impressions on the community.
This year’s featured speaker is Candace Cameron Bure, a dynamic force in the entertainment industry and a role model for women of all ages. Best known for her iconic role as D.J. Tanner on Full House and Fuller House, Bure has also earned an Emmy nomination as a co-host on The View and has starred in numerous beloved family films, most recently including, Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Yarn Maker.
An award-winning actress, producer, New York Times bestselling author, and inspirational speaker, Bure is equally known for her philanthropic heart. She actively supports organizations such as Skip1, The Salvation Army, Compassion International, and Miracle of Mobility. In recognition of her dedication and heart for helping others, she was recently honored with the Ronald Reagan Humanitarian Award.
“Candace is a fantastic choice as our keynote speaker,” said Henry. “Her own commitment to service, both on and off the screen, aligns perfectly with our university’s mission to train professionals who serve others. It’s only fitting that we honor the healthcare workers who embody these same values of compassion, dedication, and care.”
Proceeds from the Faulkner University Benefit Dinner directly support student scholarships, ensuring that future healthcare leaders receive the training they need to make a difference in the world. The event promises to be an inspiring evening, with Bure taking center stage to share her experiences and insights into the value of service and caring for others.
