Add UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski to the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter movie.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Volkanovski will play Joe, an unplayable character from the very first Street Fighter video game in 1987.
The updated Street Fighter roster now includes Cody Rhodes (Guile), Noah Centineo (Ken), 50 Cent (Balrog), David Dastmalchian (Bison), Andrew Schulz (Dan), Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Orville Peck (Vega), Andrew Koji (Ryu), Vidyut Jammwal (Dhalsim).
According to IMDB, the movie also stars Hirooki Goto (E. Honda), Olivier Richters (Zangief), Mel Jarnson (Cammy), Kyle Mooney (Marvin), Rayna Vallandingham (Juli), Jason Momoa (Blanka), and Joe Anoia’i (Akuma).
Street Fighter is considered a reboot of previous movies, which included the 1994 Street Fighter movie, and 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment are partnering to distribute Street Fighter.
Filming of Street Fighter began in August. It was originally scheduled to premiere in March 2026, but that timeframe has now changed to Oct. 16, 2026.
