ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The event features local artists sharing Latino heritage and the culture of Spanish-speaking countries with the community.

Fiesta Hispana takes place from 1-7 p.m. August 2 at Levings Park, 1420 S. Pierpont Avenue.
The event features performances from local artists and Caballos Bailadores, or Dancing Horses, will perform. The Reina will also arrive in a horse-drawn carriage.
The popular jalapeño eating contest returns, along with authentic food and cultural vendors throughout the event.
The Fiesta Hispana Coordinating Committee says they granted more than $29,000 in scholarships to Hispanic students between 1997 to 2007 through the annual festival.
