PHOENIX — Film production around the Valley in the 2025 calendar year generated a $21.5 million economic impact, according to the Phoenix Film Office’s Direct Spending Report.

The study covered all forms of production, including commercials, television, feature films, corporate films, social media content, documentaries and still photography, amounting to a total of 906 projects.

“Every production that chooses Phoenix brings jobs, investment and visibility to our great city,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said in a press release. “I am proud to support this thriving sector and the talented professionals who make it all possible.

“I look forward to seeing continued growth in Phoenix’s film industry and the opportunities it brings to our residents.”

Across the 906 projects, the film office found the impact to the Valley to include the following:

  • 1,088 days of shooting
  • 2,633 local crew members
  • 1,686 local talent
  • 4,138 nights booked at hotels

Commercial projects accounted for the majority of the spending at over $13 million across 240 projects. They have generated $65.4 million across 638 commercial projects since 2012, or nearly 50% of all production money spent in that span.

“Our streamlined permitting process, 24/7 access, year-round sunshine and iconic landscapes continue to attract producers and directors from around the world,” Phoenix Film Office Commissioner Phil Bradstock said. “While the term ‘film office’ conjures images of movies and TV shows, Phoenix truly is a commercial production town.

“The bulk of the work comes from that side of the industry and is an area for which we’re continuously recruiting clients.”

While spending surpassed the $20 million mark for the second consecutive year, it was about $7.6 million below the total for 2024’s spending.
