Memorial Day Forecast:

Have you seen the haze outside? It’s coming from fires in Mexico and Central America. This haze is lowering air quality and actually keeping us a bit cooler than forecast today. Although we likely will not beat records, we are still hot! Temperatures are in the 90s with heat index values in the 100s.

With a high of 96° it will feel like 112° (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)
Tonight’s Forecast:

Tonight we will be humid with temperatures only dropping to the upper-70s. There is a chance for patchy dense fog.

Beach Safety Reminder:

Galveston will warm to the upper 80s and low 90s but humidity at the peak heating of the day could make it feel like 108°..

If you have plans to flock to the beach be mindful that there are deadly rip currents. The beach flags are in red. If you can’t swim don’t let the water get above your knees. Children should remain at the shoreline. And if you are caught in a rip current, remain calm, and swim parallel to the shore.

Tuesday’s Forecast:

The good news is after Monday, temperatures lower enough to get us out of the heat danger zone. It’ll still be hot, just more seasonally hot (as opposed to record breaking.) Highs Tuesday will be in the lower-90s.

10-Day Forecast:

There is slight relief in the forecast. A front on Tuesday will lower temperatures and bring back rain chances. We’ll also get slightly lower morning temperatures and lower humidity.

We go back to seasonal heat starting Tuesday. (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)
