FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — Flagstaff Pulliam Airport is adding a new nonstop route, giving travelers a fresh way in and out of northern Arizona starting in mid-2027.
Beginning June 7, 2027, Delta Air Lines will fly nonstop between Flagstaff and Salt Lake City twice daily. SkyWest Airlines, operating as Delta Connection, will run the flights.
The new route is the payoff of a $1.3 million campaign the airport waged to lure a carrier to either Salt Lake City or Denver. An $800,000 federal grant covered the bulk of the cost, with the rest raised from local businesses and community members.
Flagstaff Pulliam is the closest commercial airport to the Grand Canyon, and its passenger counts have climbed steadily. Last year, 82,000 people boarded flights there, a 5% increase over the year before.
Until now, flying out of Flagstaff meant just two options: Phoenix or Dallas-Fort Worth. The Salt Lake City route opens a new gateway for connections across Delta’s hub network.
