Miramar First Fridays: Network and Chill is welcoming a former Miami Dolphins player to the spotlight.
This monthly event features a guest speaker that usually discusses entrepreneurship and tells the story of their success.
It is geared toward ages 21 and up, and the next event will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at Universal Technical Institute at 2601 SW 145th Ave. in Miramar.
This edition’s guest speaker is Louis Oliver, a former safety for the Miami Dolphins and Florida Gators.
Today, Oliver is an investor and partner in NxtGuest Luxury Transportation. His background in high-end events, luxury hospitality and VIP client management led to him founding the company, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His luxury ground transportation business operates in Miami, Orlando, Atlanta and New York.
Oliver played seven seasons with the Miami Dolphins and was a first round pick in the 1989 NFL draft.
First Fridays is free with RSVP on Eventbrite and the city says they welcome “the next generation of entrepreneurs, side-hustlers, creatives and all professionals” on the flyer.
Former guests include Maurice “Trick Daddy” Young, former Senator Christopher Smith and Killer Mike.
Miramar reporter Morgan C. Mullings was raised in Miramar and returned there after reporting in Boston and New York City. A St. John’s University graduate, she began in local politics and went on to edit and fact-check for editorial publications. Her cat, Oscar, is her favorite coworker.
