WHAT’S NEXT: Four Broncos from the Boise State Track and Field team will compete in the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which takes place June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.

THE COMPETITORS: Abby Kendrick and Emily Jobes will compete in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Kaiya Robertson will race in the 1500 meter race, while Raekwon Weatherspoon will contend in the long jump. The four student-athletes are the most the program has sent to the outdoor national championships since 2015.

THE SCHEDULE: Weatherspoon will be the first Bronco to compete, with the long jump finals slated to occur on Wednesday, June 10 at 7:40 p.m. MT. The following day (Thursday, June 11), Robertson’s 1500 meter run will begin at 6:21 p.m. MT, followed immediately by the 3000 meter steeplechase at 6:38 p.m. MT. Should they advance, the finals for the 1500 meter race are slated for Saturday, June 13 at 6:12 p.m. MT, while the finals for the 3000 meter steeplechase are scheduled to begin on Saturday at 6:24 p.m. MT.

THE LONG JUMP: Weatherspoon earned his ticket to Eugene, Ore., with a leap of 25’7.25/7.8 meters on his third attempt in the NCAA West First Round. The junior became the first Bronco to qualify for the outdoor national championships in the long jump since Eetu Viitala did so in 2015.

THE 1500: At the NCAA West First Round, Robertson won her heat and improved upon her program record in the 1500 meter race, recording a time of 4:09.17. The senior finished seventh overall in the field to punch her ticket to Oregon. She is the first Bronco athlete to compete in consecutive outdoor national championships since Kristie Schofield (800 meters) did so in 2021-22. Robertson earned a 22nd-place finish last season, posting a time of 4:15.31 to earn All-America honorable mention honors.

THE STEEPLECHASE: Kendrick and Jobes qualified for the national stage with season bests at the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Ark. Kendrick finished with a time of 10:03.94 for a fifth-place finish while Jobes came in seventh place with a time of 10:05.35. The tandem marks the third qualification in the women’s steeplechase at the event in the last two seasons, following Hanna Ackerman’s participation last year.

THE BROADCAST: Weatherspoon’s long jump on Wednesday will be broadcast on ESPN+. The remainder of the Boise State events will be available on ESPN2.
