HOUSTON – Rice men’s track & field athletes Jack Greaves, Brandon Martz, Andrew Murray and Ben Tijerina were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced.
Greaves is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.74 GPA. He is a three-time Rice University President’s Honor Roll and American Conference All-Academic honoree. Greaves was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team last season. Greaves was second in the javelin at the American Championships, advancing to the NCAA Championships this season, where he finished 20th.
Martz is a double major in Biosciences and Chemistry with a 3.79 GPA. He was named to the American Conference All-Academic Team three times. Martz was fifth in the 3000m steeplechase at the American Championships and was 41st at the NCAA South Central Cross Country Championships.
Murray holds a 3.73 GPA and earned his Master of Business Administration this year. He is a three-time American Conference All-Academic Team honoree and a three-time CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll member. Murray finished third in the 3000m steeplechase at the American Championships and advanced to the NCAA West Prelims, where he finished 26th.
Tijerina is a Political Science and Business double major with a 3.71 GPA. This is his second CSC Academic All-District honor, while also earning American Conference and CUSA academic recognitions. Tijerina finished 38th at the NCAA South Central Cross Country Championships.
