Georgia Congressman Mike Collins used his time on the floor of the United States House of Representatives on Tuesday to “demand that Texas be sent back to the Big 12.”

Collins represents Georgia’s 10th congressional district, which includes Athens ‒ where the University of Georgia is located.

Speaking beside a blown-up photo of the Bulldogs celebrating their 22-19 win over the Longhorns in Saturday’s SEC title game, Collins congratulated Georgia on its victory while firing a handful of shots at the Longhorns.

“After the Dawgs’ historic win over the Longhorns (at) the SEC Championships over the weekend ‒ which, by the way, was the second time Georgia has beat Texas this season ‒ the Dawgs have proved beyond a doubt that Texas just ain’t ready for SEC ball,” Collins said.

He went on to praise Georgia for “absolutely smoking” Texas in an overtime game.

Collins, a Republican, attended Georgia State University. He assumed office in January of 2023.
