SALT LAKE CITY — Girl Scout Cookies season is officially underway in Utah, and cookie booths are popping up outside grocery stores and community locations across the state.
For many Utah families, the season marks not only a chance to pick up their favorite treats, but also an opportunity to support local Girl Scout troops as they work toward new adventures and personal goals.
Troops say cookie sales play a major role in funding the activities girls participate in throughout the year, from outdoor programs to leadership experiences. Organizers emphasize that the annual cookie program teaches goal setting, teamwork, financial literacy and the value of hard work.
“One of the benefits is it helps girls earn troop proceeds for their troops. The second is girls earn individual goals. So they earn activity credits to help fund the activities,” organizers explained.
In addition to in-person booths, online cookie ordering is available again this year, making it easier for customers to support their local troops. Cookie booths will continue operating across the region through April 12, meaning Utah shoppers can expect to see the iconic green vests and brightly colored cookie boxes on their next grocery run.
