Fiesta Dorada — The vibrant rhythms and rich flavours of Latin America are returning to Golden as the town prepares to host its second annual Latino festival, Fiesta Dorada, on Saturday, May 3rd. This free, family-friendly event will take place at the Golden Riverfront Pavilion, located at 872 McBeath Rd, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with an evening concert extending the festivities into the night.
A Day of Cultural Immersion
Fiesta Dorada promises attendees an immersive experience of Latin American culture. The daytime festivities will feature a bustling artisan market showcasing handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, and more. Culinary enthusiasts can indulge in authentic Latin cuisine and beverages, which are available for purchase at the venue.
There will be Latino dance lessons for all ages offered three times throughout the day, inviting everyone to learn classic steps like Salsa, Cumbia, and Tango. Several interactive workshops will also be available, including how to make tortillas, roll the perfect empanada, create castanets (noisemakers) for kids, and even learn basic Spanish. (Spanish speaking workshop space is limited — online sign-up required in advance.)
For younger guests, there’s plenty of excitement too, including a kids’ fútbol (soccer) competition, piñatas, face painting, and more.

Evening Concert: Put Your Dance Skills to the Test
As the sun sets, the celebration will shift gears with a concert featuring Live performances from Diego & the Gringos (Golden) and Deejay Zorrow (Canmore) who will create an upbeat, inclusive atmosphere that celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of Latin American heritage. With energetic beats, colourful lights, and a contagious community spirit, the evening promises to be unforgettable.
