An exciting afternoon in Greensboro. The Benbow Park community is breaking in a newly built and painted basketball court, dedicated to one of the city’s homegrown heroes. It was a beautiful day at Benbow Park in Greensboro. Local officials, athletes, neighbors, and sports fans gathered to give five-time NBA All-Star and 1975 MVP Bob McAdoo Jr. his flowers on the very same basketball court where he honed his legendary skills. It gives them a great deal of self-esteem,” said close friend and retired NBA player Gene Banks. “To keep inspiration, to keep going and to do right.”McAdoo was presented with a key to the city, but he was especially excited to see the mural painted onto the court. “Just seeing all the support out here today is just overwhelming,” he said. “Seeing the court, the art on the court, unbelievable.
