Pull out your smartphones because tap-to-pay is finally coming to H-E-B stores in San Antonio.
And all of its stores across Texas.
H-E-B announced it would begin a phased rollout implementation of tap-to-pay at San Antonio stores on Monday, adding tap physical cards and digital wallets as payment methods, using Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
It’ll take about a week for tap-to-pay to launch at every H-E-B in the city.
It’ll be available at cash registers, self-checkout lanes, and at H-E-B brand restaurants and pharmacy locations. Tap-to-pay won’t be available at fuel pumps, but will be available at the fuel station payment window.
In August, H-E-B launched a tap-to-pay pilot program at a Dallas location and at Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores across Texas.
“This has been one of the most requested services we have received from our customers and partners, and we are excited to now make this popular technology available at all our H-E-B locations,” said Ashwin Nathan, vice president of marketing and payments for H-E-B.
