Time magazine has released its inaugural “America’s Best Private Companies of 2026” list, and over half a dozen San Antonio-linked brands and businesses made the cut — including a few familiar favorites.

The inaugural ranking recognizes 500 privately held companies across the country. Businesses had to be privately owned to qualify, while nonprofit organizations, hospitals and universities were excluded.

According to Time’s methodology, researchers surveyed about 217,000 employees at U.S. companies over a three-year period, evaluating businesses based on two key factors: employee satisfaction and company impact.

Those two factors were further divided into 19 subcategories spanning four “pillars,” including “society, knowledge, health and the environment.” After that, researchers assigned each company a total score out of 100 based on those metrics.

Here are the San Antonio-area companies that made the list and where they ranked.
